Kayti joined our team at the beginning of the year as a digital marketing specialist. While she has some experience in online marketing, she is new to the industry of in-person marketing. As part of her training on trade shows, events, and the products and services we offer in these areas, she has attended industry shows and visited suppliers. One of the most directly relevant shows for our company is EXHIBITORLIVE, which was held earlier this month in Tampa, FL. Having attended my first EXHIBITORLIVE in 2011, and many since, I wanted to get her fresh take on both the show and the industry it represents. So I asked Kayti to share some thoughts on her experience.
Kayti mentioned that her biggest takeaway was the show’s overall creativity. Each booth was unique in its look and feel and did a great job of explaining who they were and what they did. Most of the booths showcased new or key products and let you experience them firsthand. Many of the booths, beyond their visual appeal, used creative tactics to draw in and engage attendees. Some examples were a claw game like you’d see at an arcade, a touchscreen spinwheel for prizes, and even a foot massage! Some of the booths had themes that helped you understand further the ethos and broad messaging of the company they represent, like Classic Exhibits’ “Bigfoot” theme. Highlighting capabilities within the scope of the booth design was also clever and helpful. Such as the Modco private meeting spaces and the AGAM 3D-printed zipper. Other companies, like Hamilton’s black-and-white space, used visually nuanced designs to draw you in. Caricatures drawn by both people and AI, big floating balls, and an old reliable coffee bar were used to grab attention as well.

Each booth offered a quick and easy way to learn about the products and the companies that produce them. The presentation was an experiential and more memorable way than digital marketing can offer. It helped to understand the importance of trade shows for the exhibiting companies. EXHIBITORLIVE itself truly helps someone learn about the industry through not only its exhibit hall but also the valuable seminars and courses offered onsite. It is a must-attend for anyone entering this industry and those veterans seeking innovation and creativity.
